Smothered, Patties with Onions

4 Servings (3 ounces beef and ¼ cup onion mixture per serving)

A quick and easy 30-minute dinner that’s sure to satisfy the “hungries”.  The ingredients are basic staples, with full-blown flavor!

1 pound extra-lean ground sirloin

Nonstick cooking spray

1 medium onion, thinly sliced (4 ounces total)

¾ cup water

2 teaspoons beef bouillon granules

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

½ teaspoon instant coffee granules

Salt and pepper

Shape ground meat into 4 patties, about ½ inch thick and 4inches in diameter.

Place a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until hot.  Lightly spray skillet with cooking spray. Add patties and cook 3 minutes, turn over and cook 3 minutes longer or until pink in center.  Set aside on platter.

Add the remaining ingredients to skillet; bring to a boil and cook 3 minutes or until boiled down to ½ cup.

Return meat and onions to the skillet.  Turn patties several times to coat well, and cook 1 minute longer to heat through.
